Pynarello Fagottet was formed in 2020, in the midst of lockdown, driven by the same conviction that defines everything Pynarello does: music should be alive, breathe freely and make an immediate impact. When large ensembles were temporarily impossible, Pynarello chose innovation over inactivity. What began as a creative solution soon proved to be a winning formula.

The four-piece ensemble has an unconventional line-up: violin, viola, cello and bassoon. Unusual? Absolutely. Exciting? Even more so! Every work is specially arranged for this combination, resulting in fresh perspectives, bold choices and performances that feel as if they are being created on the spot. From the most beautiful French Baroque by Rameau to a swinging jig by Oene van Geel, the Fagottet moves effortlessly between styles and centuries, always with Pynarello’s unmistakable DNA.
